Evaluation Help is Here!

Team,

Happy Monday!  I hope this message finds you fresh off a restful fall weekend and successful transition back to the school week.  I am writing with a quick update on the evaluation action steps process.  At present, if you have not already, you will be meeting with your evaluator to discuss goals and action steps for the year.  We want to ensure that you have plenty support on this piece.  The BHS Lead Teachers, Carline Kelly and Brooke Levine-Adler, are available during 3rd and 6th blocks each day to assist you with that piece and any other piece of the process on which you would like support (artifacts, meeting expectations on or understanding the rubric,  classroom observations and etc.).

Lastly, an observation:  there are a number of young scholars in the hallway during class - almost all of them with a pass.  Students are allowed to use the restroom during class.  Not a problem.  However, when the same student(s) are leaving class, some for long periods of time, it becomes a problem. They're missing precious minutes of instruction.  Solution - we could all be a bit more judicious about how often students are leaving the class and keeping closer watch on how long a student is gone.  This situation will improve.  I appreciate your help.

Lastly, lastly, the staff ID's have arrived.  If you have not already, please come get yours in the main office.  These keys will allow you gain entry to the back door.  Going forward, please do not prop the back door open (an action I was guilty of on a nearly daily basis).

This story ran a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I'd send it along anyway. Enjoy!

Best,
Pat

P.S.  Forgive me for the issue around the lunches today.  Lunch was not ready on time which caused a delay on the distribution.  Class time is precious and I go to great lengths to protect it, but I know that, for many, this meal is the only hot, prepared one they will get for the day.  We are working to ensure that this does not happen in the future.  Thanks a million for your cooperation.
