October! I know I'm not alone in my feeling that the year is moving along at an incredible speed. It's not slowing down anytime soon. Hold on to your hats!
Your effort to complete and submit your goals in EDFS is greatly appreciated. We're a stone's throw away from 100%. Kudos, BHS!
Many thanks to those of you who signed up for Aspen training. I am waiting to hear back from our OIIT liaison to determine a date. More there in short order.
A personal focus of mine this year (and every year beyond) is to improve our connection and partnership with parents and guardians. The research strongly supports polishing this partnership as a means to improve student attendance and academic performance (See Karen Mapp's work). The Open House and your continued efforts to reach out are means toward that end. More can be done. Next Tuesday evening, I will host a parent meeting at the Epiphany School (154 Centre Street, Dorchester) at 6pm. The purpose is introduce myself (long overdue) and work to establish formal roles on the BHS parent council. You are most certainly welcome to attend.
With Deep Appreciation for All You Do,
Pat
P.S. Those of you who are awaiting staff ID's (I would be one among that group), I am told that we might see them next week.
